Artist Statement

I create works using familiar materials such as paper and wood, as well as printed images.

Through “play,” I pay attention to the moment when colors, forms, and materials come together and encounter one another, searching for forms that exist before they become a story.

In the process of making, I move back and forth between intention and unexpected discovery. The colors and forms that emerge have no fixed meaning or name yet.

And yet, they seem to carry a certain presence — something that can gradually open into each viewer’s own memories, allowing different stories to emerge.

“Playing with colors to find form before becoming a story.”

Searching for that moment is where my practice begins.
